There’s little more pleasurable than experiencing an Australian Winter. For the majority of the country, August usually delivers crisp, icy temperatures paired in an unlikely but complimentary union with a shining sun and clear, blue skies. The result? Fresh weather perfect for mini-getaways, relaxing and taking in the view. It’s also perfect weather for the annual olive harvesting, where each olive is lovingly picked and prepared for sale – or for a second life as a delicious oil or tapanade!
Adina Vineyard produces some of the best Hunter Valley olives in the vineyard. Paired with one of Adina’s delectable bottles of wines, it’s the perfect recipe for a relaxing getaway this season.
Adina Vineyard boasts around 2,000 olive trees on site that are as aged as 18 years. All Adina olives from the grove are lovingly prepared on site. Adina use a traditional organic method to cure olives, using a brine solution that takes up to 12 months to perfect. This attention to detail creates distinct and exceptional flavours that come in a variety of forms – table olives, tapanade and a variety of oils.
Try before you buy and sample the farm-fresh varieties for yourself from the self-service olive bar in the Cellar Door. Are you a fan of the classic olive? Adina’s natural olives are sure to please. Like to spice it up a bit? Try Adina’s chili, lemon and garlic combinations.
Adina also offer a variety of carefully prepared olive oils that cater to every taste - a mild blend perfect for salads, a peppery and robust blend for your pasta creations, and unfiltered and infused oils perfect for the finer palates.
Pair your perfectly harvested olives this winter with a bottle of Adina wine. Adina offer a range of perfectly aged red wines, from the medium bodied 2009 Merlot to exciting blends such as 2011 Shiraz Cabernet. Like your wine a little more full bodied? Transport yourself to France with one sip of the Bordeaux-inspired 2007 James Peter ‘The Cabernets’, or enjoy classic Italian crispness with a 2012 Pinot Grigio.
Make a weekend of it and experience the luxury of Adina Vineyard’s 4.5 star Lovedale accommodation. Adina Vineyard boast three architecturally designed lodges situated in the heart of Lovedale with sweeping vista views of the vineyards. Enjoying one of the many events the Hunter Valley vineyards hold this season? Lovedale accomodation doesn’t get better than a fully contained lodge that sleeps up to six people, complete with a deck to admire the serene landscape of the vineyards over a glass of wine.
Take a little bit of Adina magic back to the real world when you leave: in-house guests also receive a 10% discount on all regularly priced products in our cellar door - including wines, Hunter Valley olive products, and all farm produce.
What could be more perfect this winter than a cozy and peaceful getaway in the picturesque Hunter Valley, compete with warmed olives and a glass of wine? Fall in love in Lovedale with a vista of rolling green Hunter Valley hills and a palate of soft green Hunter Valley olives - at their best this time of year. See you at Adina.
Olive trees have long been entwined with human history.
We once used its oil to anoint our leaders; its leaves to crown our champions; and its branches to make peace with our enemies.
The fruit of the olive tree is also a culinary staple, sustaining generations upon generations with its well-documented health benefits.
Adina Vineyard is home to a vast grove of over 2000 olive trees, ranging in age up from fledglings up to 18 years.
We process a variety of different table olives, tapenades and olive oils onsite at our own olive processing facility, fresh from the grove to capture the full flavours of the olives we harvest.
Visitors can try all of our tapenade varieties in our self-serve olive bar at the cellar door, or check them out at our online store.
Put a fresh twist on a Mediterranean staple by enjoying olive tapenades today!
