Tasty Tapenades - How To Eat Olive Tapenades! - 05/16/2013

Olive trees have long been entwined with human history.

We once used its oil to anoint our leaders; its leaves to crown our champions; and its branches to make peace with our enemies.

The fruit of the olive tree is also a culinary staple, sustaining generations upon generations with its well-documented health benefits.

Adina Vineyard is home to a vast grove of over 2000 olive trees, ranging in age up from fledglings up to 18 years.

We process a variety of different table olives, tapenades and olive oils onsite at our own olive processing facility, fresh from the grove to capture the full flavours of the olives we harvest.

Visitors can try all of our tapenade varieties in our self-serve olive bar at the cellar door, or check them out at our online store.

Put a fresh twist on a Mediterranean staple by enjoying olive tapenades today!

Here’s how:

  • Smear tapenade over generously seasoned, lightly toasted crusty rye bread. Serve paired with aged Hunter Valley cheeses and a robust Adina red.
  • Stuff field mushrooms with olive tapenade and barbeque.
  • Spread across slices of thickly cut sourdough and fill with crumbled fetta and roasted veggies for a delicious sandwich.
  • Coat baked and seasoned salmon fillets liberally with olive tapenade.
  • Toss tapenade through angel-hair pasta, roughly chopped tomatoes and fresh basil.
  • Slit chicken breasts horizontally and spoon full of olive tapenade before baking.
  • Serve with hummus and pita chips.

How do you enjoy your olive tapenade? Share with us on our Facebook page!
